A Walk and Roll Adventure!

On April 4th 2012, my mom took 8 adults and 7 kids on a field trip on bus to Jefferson City.We went there to participate in an educational opportunity-Disability Rights Legislative Day,at the Capitol Building. We met with Senators Ryan McKenna and Eric Schmitt and Representative Rick Stream, and they talked about some laws and bills they were trying to pass for disabled people. We had sack lunches for everybody, so we went to the back of the capitol building and found a spot where we could sit and overlook the river while we ate. There were 2 ''rally'''s, where there were a couple of disabled people who talked about some of the challenges that they have had to face as kids or adults and they talked about how they managed to overcome those challenges, but we were only able to stay for 1 rally. We also met Kack Haslag, who is Eric Schmitt's Legislative Assistant. After awhile, sadly,we had to get back on the bus and go home, but my mom and I had 1 more surprise- we had every body recieve certificates for their participation!
